APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
*The program is seeking young singers with potentially large or unusual operatic voices
*For the Discovery and Introductory programs, Singers should be between the ages of 15 and 22. For the Intermediate and Advanced, Singers need a strong letter of recommendation from a recognized professional in the field of opera, and the rest of the application process is the same.
*To apply, submit the below online application form (please limit to one page - you do not need to send every song you've learned) and mail the following items:
1. CD or MP3 recording of two selections of your choice - (please label your CD or recording with your name and the selections you are singing - audition sample will not be returned)
2. Short explanation (less than 300 words) why you are interested in the Institute for Young Dramatic Voices and what your future music plans include.
3. Letter of recommendation
4. Singers who participated in previous workshops do not need to send a recording, explanation, or a letter of recommendation, but should send a new application with updated information
The application deadline for the 2010 program is February 1, 2010.
Selected singers will be notified by mid February about live auditions to be held.
